The only oddity - a good or bad thing depending on preference, I suppose - is that the FMV sequences, normally very crisp and clean, become slightly pixelated when letterboxed because the game actually stretches the source material instead of simply framing it like, say, Silicon Knights did with its GCN psycho-thriller Eternal Darkness. I couldn't be happier that Amusement Vision had the foresight to make the game zoom in an optional 16x9 mode - it looks absolutely beautiful and the framerate never so much as hiccups. I've been playing the game in progressive scan on a 50" widescreen plasma set and running in full Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound. I'm a presentation snob and F-Zero GX caters to jerks like me. You don't read that very often, huh? But in the case of F-Zero GX, which flawlessly combines the classic F-Zero-trademarked sense of speed with spectacular graphics and sound, it's true I'm happy that Amusement Vision was on the job because frankly I don't think Nintendo could have pulled it off so triumphantly. So rather than recycle information, I thought instead I'd use this time and space to detail and focus on other aspects of the title. Or maybe you weren't a videogame know-it-all at the time, and actually enjoyed games more then you bitched about them.I wrote a fairly complete hands-on piece about F-Zero GX just a few short weeks ago and since then nothing has changed.

Ring a bell?Īnd I'm sure you're aware of how average Mariokart 64's graphics were when it came out compared to some PC titles. Hot damn, the day I ask for something more sexy then that is the day I become a forum blow-hard, constantly refreshing my explorer window in an attempt to scatter my waves of elite stupidity amongst the rest of the forum-going community. Not because there were bumper mappers or volumetric gasious intestinal content. For instance, I watched the Double Dash video and I exclaimed "Pants, meet poop". Here's a clue: About 80 percent of the videogaming market has no comprehension of what makes good graphics. "PHUCK! We sold 8 kabajillion copies BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE PEOPLE NOLIMIT CLAIM WON'T BUY OUR GAME CAUSE OF t3H GRAPH1CKZ?!!!!!!!!!!one"

YEA! Just like all of those people turned off by Grand Theft Auto's subpar graphics! I'm sure Rockstars kicking themselves now.

nintendo needs to step it up in that department. There are many people that are looking forward to this title that may be turned off by its not so good looking graphics.
